Rising petrol prises, the demand for fresh local produce, networking and friendship opportunities has inspired this valuable community event. Approximately 30 mixed stalls of local food, arts, crafts and community groups such as WIRES, Nambucca Valley Conservation, Valla Fire Brigade and Headspace Nambucca Youth will be attending.  Local talented musicians "Odz & Sodz" will entertain throughout the day. There's a sausage sizzle, a café with homemade cakes and delicious coffee and a raffle with excellent prizes, including first prize of 2 nights accommodation at Dolphin Tracks Beach Houses in Valla Beach.

It will be a day to find a bargain and sit back under the trees and enjoy the good music, food and vibe. All monies raised will be used to fund community projects in the village along with the protection, repairs and positive growth of Valla Beach.

Market coordinators, Christina Barry, John Windmill and Kaz Selbie have been busily preparing for the big day with the help of the community. Kaz who's also the VBUHC Secretary said, "It's fantastic, what started out to be a small time local affair has grown ten-fold with wonderful support from all over the valley, it's will be a day of diversity, colour and community spirit". The event has received the support and sponsorship of local businesses, Signs of Style, Dolphin Tracks Beach Houses, AKS Electrical, The Valla Beach Tavern, Valla Beach Real Estate, The Headland Cafe, Valla Beach Bakery, Nambucca Valley Landscape Supplies, Nambucca Heads Shire Council and 2NVR 105.9fm Community Radio.  Ms Selbie says the market gives the community an opportunity to come together for a positive cause, to meet new people, help each other, have fun and save on petrol. The committee are optimistic the day will be a huge success. It was created from a shared idea and grew from community collaboration and care.
